Dear members of our St. George’s family of faith:

In light of the recent developments in terms of health guidelines surrounding the Covid-19 pandemic, and with guidance from our Archdeacon and Bishop, we are disappointed to have to  inform you that we will not be able to move forward with the six Christmas Services that were planned for Dec. 23rd and Dec. 24th.

It is with a heavy heart that this very difficult decision was made BUT it is because we feel it is the only thing to do with the omicron variant that is so transmissible. The safety of our guests and membership was considered our sacred duty as all five wardens unanimously supported this decision.

Please hold our Rector, Rev’d Gray, and the members of our worship team in your prayers. This is another year of deep disappointment for them and they will be pivoting yet again to record a special virtual Christmas service. This will be launched on Christmas Eve and will allow all our families and guests to still hear the Gospel message proclaimed in order to celebrate in the safety of our homes.

Please note: If anyone is alone this Christmas time and feels they need some support please call the church at 519 599-3047. We would be happy to give you a call and share a little Christmas cheer or support.

We also want to let you know that if you want to drop off your Christmas envelope,  you can rest assured it will be safe if you drop it into the black mail box that is just beside the back entrance into the Church. Thank you for your continued support as we will do our best to meet our year end financial obligations despite another year of cancellations.

From our families to yours, Merry Christmas. Despite the challenges this year, we have accomplished so much in serving God and others in this community. May 2022 bring us a less difficult year!   With deep regret but with the Lord guiding us in this decision,

Your Wardens of St. George’s.

Frances, Martha, Doug, John and Donna
