St. George's "Church Beyond Our Doors" minsitry is ever evolving, having begun with melas being provided for pick up or delivery, pick up kits and recorded "Messy Church," and online services during the global COVID-19 pandemic. We have the capacity to prepare between 30-40 seniors meals every other Thursday. Within each meal delivery, we serve a soup, salad, dinner entrée, dessert and a bun. Many seniors comment that the delivery lasts them more than a day or two!
We have two teams headed by Janine Clark and Barbara Wade and the group of volunteers who prepare and cook these meals from scratch. Doreen Taylor does an amazing job of preparing and cooking the soup and desserts. We are also deeply gratefully for our team of drivers who deliver these meals during any weather.
Our catering group continues to serve the Thornbury-Clarksburg Rotary every other Thursday evening providing a full meal and a vegan meal option. We have a dedicated team of volunteers, shoppers, and cleaner-uppers.
